it doesn't necessarily need the lace, but it looks good with it.

I put a material that kind of looked like the sun in the middle and then stitched around it to make it look like it was radiating a little. I thought it went with my springtime theme, the sun making the flowers bloom, lol.

The funny thing about this is that I first went to this class to make a Christmas tree skirt (which I didn't need) so the instructor said we could make this into a tablecloth by adding a couple of inches to the bottom of each piece (which I did) and I don't know how, but the first one I made even fits better than this one. Must just be lucky because I didn't measure it to fit.

Thanks everyone....I appreciate all the compliments and the honesty about the lace. I got up this morning and had another look at it and it is growing on me. So that's a good thing because I'm not taking it off, lol.

Beautiful table topper, not sure the lace goes so much with your country decor, but looks good! I'm not a lace person myself, more on eyelet than lace.
