A thank-you gift for our friends in France.

This quilt is on its way to our friends in France who are so welcoming and gracious to us every time we visit. Their condo overlooks the Mediterranean and is decorated in shades of terra cotta. The pattern is a smaller version of Whispering Lace by Amy Ellis from her book Modern Neutrals.

Jan, the fabrics are all batiks from various companies with the exception of one cotton print, and the lattice work is Kona Snow. Thanks for the kind comments, everyone.

Very elegant. A lot of cutting and stitching went into that beauty.

Bueniebabe, I sent it Priority Mail Express International. I can track it on-line, someone must sign for it upon delivery and it carries $100 of insurance. I valued it at $40 for customs purposes and declared it as a "blanket." The cost was $70.05. Obviously, if it goes missing, I'm just out of luck. I was warned not to value it at its full worth because the recipients might have to pay a lot of duty tax and or it might get stolen. I don't know if those are valid worries, but I thought I wouldn't take the chance.

The tracking service said it was delivered this morning. It took seven days. I hope we hear from our friends. They live in a condo, so it might have been the concierge who signed for it.

Love your quilt and the colors you used. You did a wonderful job. I have the book with that pattern in it and I think you have inspired me to start that quilt for the new year. Thx for sharing.
