I have a plant just about that color.......it has taken a long time, it seem to grow very slow. Your mom sure looks happy in that picture. You must miss her being so far away :D

It's beautiful, as is your mother. What a smile! :D
How did you stabilize the edges?

Minda - the whole of the top was stabilized with a product that is self adhesive and repositional called filmoplast. I did a normal binding on the edges. The 3D flowers were also made with filmopast, I stuck it down on fabric then used bondaweb and ironed it to the back of the flower fabric, then drew the flower and satin stitched right around the edge, then cut it out. :D

Amazing work! What techniques did you use? Maybe I could do something like this for the butterflies I'm planning for one of my up comming projects. Of course your mom's smile makes everything worth while!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.

I really wasn't too sure if it was to my mums taste, as in the U.K. the trends are for very neutral tones in the home, and this wall hanging is VIBRANT!!

But I think we can all see that she really loves it, and I found out she has taken around all the neighbourhood and my nieces school to show everyone, so that speaks volumes doesn't it!! :D

These were 1 euro each, they had a metal clip to attach to anything, but I took them off re-thread the beads, the big one at the bottom is heavy, pearlised glass in the form of a leaf...I didn't like my bottom corners as they were abit pointy so I disguised them with these dangly's and I think it works well
