    Thimbleberries Quilt

I have a quilting friend who was downsizing her stash and gave me a lot of her older fabric. Some of it (well actually a lot of it) was Thimbleberries fabric. I wasn't sure what to make with it as the colors of Thimbleberries fabric are very distinct and not close to any fabrics readily available and what's currently "in" in quilting. So a while ago I found the book "At home with Thimbleberries Quilts" by Lynette Jensen in a thrift store and bought it.The name of the pattern is Pine Ridge. At last, fabrics and patterns to match! I love how it turned out, and so did my brother who I gifted it to last weekend :-)

That's soooo pretty! I used to love Thimbleberies, the books, the fabrics etc. I heard they went out of business.

I love deep rich old fashioned looking colors. You did a beautiful job with them. Thanks for showing us.

I have some Thimbleberry books by Lynette Jensen. Have had a few fabrics designed by her. I learned alot of things from her books. Still do alot of things like her.

Lucky brother! You were smart to wait and find a pattern that worked so well with the fabrics. The quilting is fantastic.

Love the result of your insight into using fabric that someone else was totally uninspired with. Great quilt in every way and I am glad your brother really likes it.

I have always liked the Thimbleberries fabrics and now that "new"colors are out there, it is possible to find this line of fabric at a discounted price. Nice quilt by the way.
