All three are just so sweet! Kids and mothers should love them. My ufos don't look anything like those! Really cute!

What a lovely finish to those UFOs.

I had to clear out my stash closet so the air conditioner men could get
in to put in new ducting for a new roof top heater.

I found YEARS of "stash" there, plus the quilt blocks I had made for my
then 6 year old son. He designed it, I appliquéd them. There was his
tennis racquet, his dearly beloved Doberman, his giant Monarch butterfly
that he and his Dad had collected, his favorite book, etc. They were all
lovely and I'm going to finish them since I have found them again.

I'm sure he will love it when it's finished...even though that in this coming
month of May, 2010, he will be 42 years old. Sigh...I'm usually much
quicker to finish things than that. I thought. Can't wait to search through
all the boxes that were in that closet.

Barb, I just love all three. What a great use of your scraps and stash. Love the log cabin with the hearts. Bet your great-grand children love them.

I stole one of your ideas. I made mine with cascading smilie faces and one heart. What a great punch to any plain old quilt. I made this for a man in the nursing home that my mother is in. He always has such a beautiful glowing smile. So with your inspiration, here it is.

I love all of your quilts, but the cascading flower one really is wonderful. Great way to spark up a simple quilt. I hope to be using this idea also! As my Mom used to say, "necessity is the mother of invention" I love how you made due and how wonderfully they turned out((((0)))) Clap clap clap!!!

Hope you will share some of your finds with us. Would expecially like to see the block you and your son designed. Will it be a surprise for him when you finish it?
