You refer to the huge Simplicity one....I was thinking yours would be about 24". tall, is that about what they are?

Mine measure 49" long and 40" wide with the arms open.

Are these only made from flannel or can cotton prints be used. Do not know how the cotton would rag compared to flannel.

You're right, cotton probably wouldn't rag quite as much as flannel. Homespuns make great ragg quilts, tho! They rag out as much or more than flannel.

I've seen fleece used for these too (two layers, no batting). They come out cute, but have fringed seams rather than ragged. Fleece doesn't ravel.

I would like to try homespuns for one... if I can find enough of them.

I have homespun fabrics, need to find them and give one a try.
