Three recent finishes, truck quilts, chain quilt.
I recently finished 3 quilts. All are way out of comfort zone of color. My quilts normally appeal to little girls, you know happy colors with flowers and sweet things. So why did I step out of my comfort zone. Occasionally we have to make something that other people(hubby) like. And while taking care of my mom during the last few weeks of her battle with cancer I wanted simple quilt designs to feed my need to quilt. It was therapy.
The first quilt is called Vintage Christmas. The pattern is by Erica Arndt of Confessionsofahomeschooler blog.
The second quilt is my design inspired by Ericas. I'm a real sucker for applique on simple quilts. Scraps from the first quilt were used to make the applique. I also had a custom made jelly roll from our local quilt shop(Coffee Cup Quilting) that I wanted to use.
The last quilt is another one of my designs. Using the scraps from the first two quilts with a little added yardage for the burgundy borders.

Every one of those quilts are beautiful. When I saw the first one I said "ahh", when I went to the 2nd one I said "ahh", when I looked at the 3rd one I said "ahh". They all appealed to me. I really like the quilting on the 3rd one.

All beautiful but the third is my favorite. Love the way you quilted Double Wedding Ring over an Irish Chain. Also love the chains being all green in one direction, and all purples going the other direction. It's just so cool!
