I worked all day to get the top done. I could not make up my mind on the color for the sashing, I kept changing my mind. I had the blocks layed out 1 on each solid color that I had, it was about to drive crazy. I decided to use several printed colors. I think my Dd has claimed this quilt she picked out the color for the border. Hope you all like it.

I like it. Are you going to quilt it or tie it?

I haven't decided, all I know how to do is SITD. I hadn't even thought about tieing(sp?) but that is an idea. I haven't decided on a color for the backing yet. Might let my Dd decide. I had so much trouble trying to decide on colors that I am gonna put it away for a while and then come back to it later.

The reason I ask is I like crazy quilts and they are traditionaly tied. I have done areas with french knots and that looks pretty also.

Once you decide show us how you progress.

I did not know that. Tho I can see with all the seams how it would be pretty hard to quilt. I don't like leaving things unfinished for too long but when I finally get it done I will show it off. Thank you for all the wonderful comments.

I love the sashing strips done in the multi colors. Your daughter really know her colors to have picked the yellow for the outside border. Thumbs up!!
You should put on your walking foot and try some easy quilting lines. It isn't as hard as you would think to machine quilt. Many people just take a yard stick and draw lines diagonally from one side then the other. That makes a diamond shape when it is sewn both ways. If you don't have quilting safty pins, just run a few basting stitches to hold it until it is stitched. Come on it isn't hard... really!

The problem is I don't have a walking foot, some day. I just have the regular foot and it does ok for SITD but not anything fancy or I would try quilting it. I used to tie all my quilts cause that's what my DG's always did. We will see.

Yes, sir! That is a good looking quilt!
I like how you decided to make the sashing look sort of plaid ... nice touch!

Great quilt. Thanks for posting this. I was wondering last night how a quilt would look with different colored sashings and now I know - Great.

Oh that's a shame. What kind of machine do you have? A tied quilt is neat too. I originally made mine that way years ago.

The colors of your quilt remind me of a budgie parakeet I once had. He was so smart.

I have a brother LS-30, that I love. I just don't have the thirty bucks to get a walking foot right now, maybe next tax season.

Very cute, and your sashing colors go with it just fine.

Uh oh ... I just did a search and saw where the walking foot is sixty dollars for that machine.

I love the way you used different colored sashings. It's a very bright, happy-looking quilt.
