Lovely quilt and the colors are so vibrant.
As a handquilter - I would quilt around the circles. This would pop them out making them the focal point of your quilt.

If you vary that per block, quilt around one circle on one block and on the next, quilt around the square, you will pop one circle and not the next. This would give you " bubbles" floating on your blue sea.
