Your quilts are cute. I am sure they will be enjoyed and ooh'd over for years. I wish I had started quilting at 21, then maybe I wouldn't have to be in such a frenzy to make as many tops as possible before I go! lol

As a fellow "newbie" to the quilting world, couple pieces of advice
#1. the Specialness from a quilt comes from the love you stitch into it as you make it. Has nothing whatsoever to do with experience, skill, fabrics or pattern. They are special because YOU took the time to put them together with love.
#2. Do NOT be afraid of complicated quilts, most are just squares, triangles and rectangles sewn together, you obviously can do that So go for it! There are no rules!
Sometimes a pattern looks complicated but is very easy once you get into it.
Congrats on your degree as well.

You have done a great job on both of those little quilts, and as far as lessons, there are a lot of classes and tutorials online. Youtube, Missouri Star Quilts, and more, just Bing it and you will get a long list
