Tonga Nature BOM finally finished
#11
The kit made a 94" x 106" quilt, but I turned it sideways. The row of flying geese were supposed to go at the head and foot of the bed. My DH hates shams so we just pull the quilt up over our pillows with no tuck. In the pattern it stated that to make it a true king you should add another border of flying geese to the sides to make it 106" square.

Beautiful top, congratulations on getting it finished, it was well worth the effort. I have many kits by the same designer, its my annual indulgence for myself. They make stunning patterns and are wonderfully written as well.

Such an awesome quilt. it would have taken me longer to finish piecing that if it were mine....large projects such as this don't seem to hold my attention long enough to ever finish them. I applaud you!!

Your quilt is beautiful. I did the same thing as you did---I was taking a BOM class and this was the pattern. I got very discouraged and folded it up and put it away. Life gets in the way sometimes and maybe I should go deep into the closet and pull it out and try and finish it. Thanks for the inspiration

Great job! When this came out as a BOM, it was also available in an alternate colorway. Blue and green, I think. Annnndddd... That is around here someplace, not finished... Maybe next year. This year's slate is already full, lol. I give you a lot of credit. Once I put something away, it's sooo hard to pick it back up, find where you were and what needs to be done!
