I just used the tutorial on this site for the 3-D pinwheels. I cut 6 1/2" unfinished blocks...although you can use any size that suits you. The background and pinwheel blade blocks are 3 1/2",

I had to look and look to find your quilt again! I love the way the pinwheels are made and tacked onto the quilt. I make a lot of baby quilts and this is so neat. Please, if you don't mind, tell me how you made those pinwheels. Mine always are in a block with 1/2 squares sewn together. How did you do this??? thank you so much for the information if you have time.

Here is a tutorial from the tutorial section on this site that will explain how to make the 3-D pinwheels. This is what I used. It isn't very hard once you get going. Do remember to iron your seams out flat, because there are a lot of layers at the seams. Have fun!
