You have me thinking now - I have a lot of gingham checks that are a little thin by themselves, but layered like this, could work. I imagine it would work well with a variety of fabrics.

Ah...I just took it all apart...it didn't grow on me....so no strips......I'm not sure if it should have a border....maybe several inch wide....I just can't make up my mind

You know...I totally agree. I think if you just bound it with the same fabric as the background fabric it would be just perfect!!!

I love that. The yellow is perfect with those squares. I can't wait to see the border you pick out. Great job.
