My grandson LOVES trains, so I made this for his birthday. The pattern was a freebie from Fat Cat Patterns.

    http://www.fatcatpatterns.com/Children%20Designs.html

I did a serpentine stitch between the blocks, stitched in the ditch around the border and FMQ around the cars of the train. I didn't have quite enough of the Thomas fabric for the back, so I added some other fabric to stretch it out.

No, fusible and raw edge applique. I ran out of Lite Steam-a-seam 2 and used the regular. It gummed up the needle more than the Lite does. also it's a little stiffer than I'd like. But he's only 3. I'm sure I'll be replacing it in a couple of years with something else when he wears it out. :)

This quilt is cute as a button. Love all your colors and what a nice label.
Sindy has some astonishingly great things on her website. Lots off novelty and some simple designs that end up winners.

Just adorable!! My grandson's are both into Thomas Train... The oldest has been so into them, that that is his only topic of conversation at times!! I am making a quilt for him of Thomas fabric... I wish I had thought of doing as you have! Love the engine and cars. Is that a pattern or did you engineer it :) ?

Oops! I just saw you posted the link to the pattern!!
