My son's travel pillow was looking poor after about 11 years of use, so I made him a new one. Jinny Beyer free block and one of her fabrics (the navy blue) and some other scraps ... all patriotic because he is military.

Also using similar scraps and the same block to make some patriotic table mats for elderly friends. Another board member sent a box of scraps and I am busy using them!!

Will post pictures as I have more to report. Thanks Mollie 11!!

These are very quick to make. I don't over stuff them and find that travelers and older people, not to mention the men in my family, like to put them behind their neck to nap or rest in the recliners.

Someone asked me the size. This particular one is is 13 inches square.

Another one that I finished this morning is only 12' by 6'. I try to make the size fit the person I am making it for and their needs.

Another question this morning was what did I stuff them with? I use muslin or some scrap fabric to make a casing and then stuff with soft fiberfill. This comes in a bag that seems to go a long way, even though it looks like a small bag. I hand sew usually, sometimes use a zipper foot, the opening in the casing. And then I make the cover removable for washing. Sometimes use a zipper, velcro, button and button hole or lapped closing. The ones I made yesterday and today have lapped closings.
