This is one of my latest hot ribbon applique wallhangings completed in memory of all the tropical vacations my girlfriend and I have taken. In addition to the quilting I also embellished with embroidery, trapunto and Swarvoski crystals.

Thank you all sewwwwwwww much. Although I do other types of quilting I tend to return to my first love - which is the stained glass effect.

Hot ribbon applique is a method of fusing 1/8" ribbon from Japan to edges of applique. The ribbon will stay put without sewing and you can do great mitered edges with it. You can also color the ribbon with Copic markers or Sharpies to perfectly match what you are doing. You can also go to http://dutchquilter.com/ to get more information and examples.
