I think I finally got this figured out,

This quilt was made from blocks I found in my mother's things after her death.

This is my favorite kind of quilting. I use this small piece for a cover on the trunk I use for a coffee table.

The blocks were given to me by members of my guild as a gift because I was their president for a year.

All of your quilts are wonderful-you are so lucky to have the ones from your mom and it is great that you made the blocks in to a quilt.

I especially love the whole cloth quilt--did you machine or hand quilt it?

The only items I machine quilt are those for small children or my step children. My step daughter is a Neo Natal Nurse practioner and her one claim to fame as a housekeeper is washing all of her bedding from sheets to quilts and blankets every week. I made her a quilt when she was sharing a house with other students when she was in nursing school. It had fused and machine applied appliques on it but was hand quilted. She managed to wash the appliques loose. I made each of her two daughters "quilos" by machine as they spent all of thier pre school days in day care.

looks good to me. I am envious. It'll be forever before I can sew again. Lots and lots of unpacking to get done first!
