    Thanks again for all your kind replies. You should all give it a go, it's not really hard, just doodling on the machine. And everyone's blocks will be so different, opens up more possibilities.

    My daughter and her friends would love this in a quilt or bags to color in with fabric markers! Great sleepover activity!

    Beautiful! I love the look of these. I'm going to try to find some info on this. My husband's initials are JB. I wonder if he would like something like this - maybe on a cushion for his chair or on the back of a jacket.

    I can see a design with initials done on velvet or damask in wool yarn and then upholstered on the back of dining room chairs. All sorts of ways to use it. Maybe on an upholestered headboard.
