I have four sisters who have just begun to quilt and we try to get together once a year for a sewing retreat. This year, we decided to make 5 tube blocks to exchange with each other and we had a blast putting our own quilt together our own way. You can't see all 5 of them very well in the picture, but we shared them (after quilted) at our family gathering at New Years and had a great time again!

4 of the 5 sisters and one friend observing

What I wouldn't give to be a part of something as special as that. I have one sister and she does not sew at all. No one in my family does. Cherish your time with your sisters doing something you love. And I just love the one brother who cooks for you all. Now that is special!!!!

    They look great.

I just got done cutting out tube blocks, and now I am trying to decide on how to set them. Wish I had a book of options. Or a design wall!

That's what I was thinking. I can't even imagine such family togetherness--seems magical.
The quilts are so playful! I love them.

How cool is that? I haven't any friends or family that quilts, so I am on my own. A family retreat would be totally awesome! You are very fortunate! Beautiful quilts this go-round...too bad we have to wait a year to see the next installment! ;)

how fun, wish my sisters quilted, one dabbles in making Barbie doll clothes, which I think would be harder than making quilts, such tiny pieces, not for me
