Default Turned Edge Applique UFO

This is my first try at turned edge applique (not needle turn). I had a commercial bedspread that had the applique on it that was worn out. I liked the pattern so I attempted to replicate it.

This quilt was like fighting snakes the whole time I was making it. I was having tension issues so I had to unpick all of the quilting in the center. That wasn't fun and took a long time. I bought a better stationary machine hoping the tension issues would be easier to manage. I got as far as quilting the borders, and halfway through I realized they were a puckered mess of bad tension that needed to be unpicked and redone. I finished that and had more issues with the binding. It's 88" x 88"

I've never been so happy to finish a quilt. I made curtains in my bedroom two years ago to match this quilt. I'm finally going to be able to use it before the curtains need to be replaced.

I get what you are saying. I finished an applique quilt this past year and it was not easy but I persevered and was very happy with the outcome. I am going to try to post a pix and hopefully it will work. Great job and perseverance.

It is stunning, I agree. your applique looks like it is in a garden but shines in it's own right. Lovely.

What a beautiful medallion. I think many of us can share your pain with one of more of our previous projects. Sometimes it's a fight to finish, but what a glorious finish it is. Enjoy your "new" quilt.
