Bless her heart for still staying in the game even at an advanced age. Bless your heart for being so caring about her feelings and going the extra mile to transform the top into a beautiful finished quilt. I hope my attempts will be half that good as I advance into the golden years. Shoot, I just hope to be alive!!

You certainly pulled that off admirably! Sometimes those errors don't always quilt out.

The first pics you posted are a classic example of what happens when one doesn't measure for borders (and it appears sashing strips as well in this particular quilt) but insteady sews a length of fabric on and cuts off the excess. You should hang on to these pictures and the next time someone asks why they should measure for their borders down the middle of the quilt, show them these! This is what happens when you don't measure and ease in your borders. More waves than the Queen of England at Jubilee! LOL
