Regarding my earlier post, I think I get it. It's called a "Twister Tool" and the resulting pattern is the tessellating pinwheels?

I want to use fat quarters so I could get 4 - 8 or 8 1/2" squares from each. I have the Lil' Twister and was hoping it would work for that size square. I have so many fat quarters I would really like to use them for this.

I made a Twister table topper and am quilting it right now. I will post pictures when done. Mine was made with a Moda Charm Pack. They are fun to make once you get the hang of cutting it right. It actually goes together fast. Does anyone have the instructions on how to use the tool. Mine were very basic from the quilt shop....

That's really pretty. What is the finished size? I'd like to try one

I see that you give the size.

This looks like the quilts from Square Dance book by Martha Thompson. Searced and found a blog with same instructions http://angiequilts.blogspot.com/2008...-httpwww.html. I have the book hidden under fabric somewhere but I remember a template to tape on your ruler. At least the method is the same.I am looking for layer cake patterns, if I can find my book I hope I can adapt to that size. Anita=a lurker coming out
