Two African quilts (not mine) but just wanted to share

Two months ago, while in transit in Johannesburg (South Africa), I was rushing to take my next plane but had to stop to take a picture of those two beautiful quilts. I dropped everything on the floor and got my camera. The plane can wait, right? LOL

Wow I can see why the plane had to wait.

Can you tell us more? Who made them, or was it part of an art exhibit? Were those all prints or applique? They're fabulous!

These are beauties - no wonder you dropped everything for the shot. Guess you made the plane.

You are all welcome. Sorry, I didn't have time to ask any question to those lovely ladies.
Those quilts were on display outside a store in the airport. I believe they could have been
for sale but not sure. Frankly I just snapped those pics and ran for my plane. Unfortunately
I went through a different route on my way back otherwise I could have asked.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. There is a store close to where I live that is sells items made by African women to raise money for education. One of the fun things the store sells is fabric that has been designed and dyed by the women in the association.

Beautiful quilts. I love multi cultural art in any medium.

No matter how tough life is, it sure beats the alternative.
