Two Mug Rugs I recently finished for a swap.

Recently I participated in a mug rug swap and these are the two mug rugs I made for my partner. I had a lot of fun added embellishments. However, the most fun was fussy cutting the kitty lurking behind the little birdie. The patterns for these mug rugs came from thePatchSmith.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

Those are SO cute! Did you do the applique on the machine or by hand?

Oh wow! I went to her web site and her patterns are darling. Your little bird with the cat behind it is a very creative version of her pattern. Would love to see the ones you got in the swap!

These are done with fusible, raw edge applique. Then, I did a blanket stitch with my machine. My fingers don't like handwork even though I love doing it. It's that age thingie... ...if ya know what I mean.

I have never made one, but won't the buttons make a cup uneven?

I live your mug rugs. I am, at present , in the process of making 8 mug rugs from her pattern of the bee hive. These are so much fun and great to work on between larger projects..
