Both quilts are beautiful, I love scrappy quilts. Nothing has to match.

Thanks so much. Actually I tried to match the colours of surrounding strips to the little 3 1/2 inch squares colours. Generally there were at least three colours in those little squares that I could match with Bella Solids colours.

I also, never created any kind of pattern for these. All I did was make one strip the same width as the little square, then the next two were made so that they matched the combined width of the little square and the previous strip width, and the last strip was made to cover the width of the little square in the two border strips. Super easy to make. Hard part is all the slicing and dicing you have to do. :-)

Thanks Everyone. They were fun to make

I purchased a Janome sewing machine some months ago to replace my Babylock Jazz II that I just couldn't get used to. The Babylock does very well with simple straight stitching, but I could never get it to work with free motion quilting. Now, the Janome is absolutely wonderful. It is powerful, and does it all well. The only thing that makes it not a 10 out of 10 is the needle holder. Seems that if I don't wiggle it just right, when inserting it, it gets set just enough off to not allow the auto thread part to align properly, and that also means the won't sew until I get the needle aligned. I'm starting to get the hang of this quirk.

One thing that puzzled me is the fact that the Janome cost a lot, but didn't come with any kind of dust cover. I've looked online for them, but most are way over priced, like the Janome machine.

So I had to venture into an area I have never gone before. Make a cover. After some trial and error, I finally got a basic cover done, and here it is. More bright colours to go with all the other stuff around the house. :-)

I love the fabric in you machine cover. I own several Janomes and they all came with dust covers. Did you ask you local dealer about the cover?
