I hand quilt some but my kids love the tied quilts because it reminds them of when they were kids and grandma made quilts for them that were tied. We still have some of them. The ties never wore out but the seams have separated on some of the blocks. I have two tied quilts that I use on my bed year around and are washed regularly and neither of the ties have broken or let loose I use crochet thread and use a square knot. Love tied quilts for my utility quilts.

No, not crazy! tyed quilts seem to me to be softer and warmer. My family likes them tyed. Just finished my granddaughters very large quilt. She is 6 feet tall and needs a big quilt.

I like tied quilts, they seem to be softer. I do both tie and mahine quilt, but I only do simple machine quilting and hand quilting. I prefeer the puffieness that a tie quilt or simple machine quilting gives.

I just finished tying one myself for GD#2 to use in camping (She works with Forestry Department). You did a good job. Sometimes, I turn the ties to the back so that the front design shows up well.
