UFO - batik and blender squares

Years ago, I started making a bunch of 5" squares, like mini log-cabins (center square + one row around) in muted shades. Stuck 'em away for years. Dragged them out this weekend and made this (had to make some additional squares to have enough). May become our new king size quilt-- with some borders attached, anyway.

Tell you whar... if that doesn't become your new bed quilt, what say it becomes mine? LOL! I love it! It's subtle & dynamic all at the same time. And gorgeous all the time! Congrats on a beautiful quilt AND knocking out a UFO! One down & a zillion more to go, right? LOL! The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...

WOW! Your quilt is very striking. I love the colours and your choice of layout. Doesn't it feel good to get an UFO completed!

I LOVE how you did the color placement on this. It has so much more visual interest with the square in a square thing going as well as looking modern. Great job!

Like your setting, love batiks! Guess we all should be careful, some not so appropriate images could mysteriously appear.....

Oh and the red and pink or salmon and darks really pump it up. I think it is beautiful.

Thanks everyone. Now I'm trying to find the right fabric to make a wide border so it will be large enough to fit our king-size bed.

Depending on the colour and decor of your bedroom, how about a sage green (3" wide) and then a dark tan or brown for the final 4" border. As I said earlier "Your quilt is unique and beautiful". I love the batiks and the layout. Please show us when finished.
