    UFO's no more!

I finally have been able to move 3 quilts out of the "UFO" bin! Unfortunately, my photography skills aren't the best, but I hope you can see them okay. The first was a retreat project last fall, just because I liked the colors. The second has little boys playing with paper airplanes, paper boats, etc., as well as bicycles, made for my pilot husband. The third was made with leftover fabrics, some of which have lighthouses and sailboats. The quilter put the compass points on, as well as quilting sailboats in the white squares. This is for my sister who loves to be on the lake.

Nancy, I can't take credit for that -- neither the idea or the quilting. A longarm quilter in MN did this for me.

It must feel great to have those 3 UFO's move over to your "done" pile! They all look great.

Wonderful quilt -- and great FMQ. Wish I could get mine that even. I particularly like the green one. Such a simple pattern but elegant at the same time.

Thanks for the compliment on the quilting. Can't take credit for that. It was actually done by Missouri Star Quilt Co, and they did a wonderful job. You can't see it in the picture, but there are little butterflies quilted in.

I'm trying to learn FMQ on a friend's longarm, but boy it's tough for me because I don't get to practice very often.

This was actually a kit I purchased at a quilt show in Oshkosh, WI. The brown fabric already had fusible web on the back so that you could iron it on whichever strip you chose. Maybe it was cut with Accuquilt? I'm not familiar with that so not sure. I bought the kit because it had the little boys making paper airplanes in one of the fabrics, and it reminded me of my pilot husband!
