Thanks so much for all of the positive reinforcement. This quilt top was made as a result of classes at the LQS. We were issued kits with pieces of fabric and directions. The instructor demonstrated techniques and showed examples. To me the most difficult blocks were the wagon wheel and the drunkard's path. Satin stitching on curves is not my best thing. Confession time: don't remember the name of the block but it's the one with red squares on point. I lost one of the red squares and didn't have enough scrap to make another one so I improvised and used another red. As you can see it sticks out like a sore thumb. But I suppose that happened to quilters in those times when they were using scraps of clothing, etc to make the quilts. We chose our own sashings, cornerstones, and borders. For backing I used the same fabric as the background of the block with the red squares on point. Wish I could think of the name of that block. Will have to get the book out.
