You fold the pattern back on a line and sew right next to the fold. Otherwise the piecing process is the same as PP with tear-off paper. You can use the same freezer paper pattern many times. I've used one up to 8 times with lots of sections in the block. I really love your star. It's magnificent and I've also made a Karen Stone PP pattern before. Looking forward to the rest of your pictures of the progress to finish up this star.
I have used the freezer paper technique a few times, this pattern though came with the papers printed and there are so many. The pages were too large to just use the copy machine, cutting them up then printing made even more copies needed, hand tracing would take a long, long time. So, using the papers that came made much more sense. The cost of all the freezer paper, and ink ( which for my printer is really expensive) to copy 130 pages was not something I wanted to do, I already paid for the papers with the pattern. Thanks for the tip/ suggestion though.
I will admit the freezer paper method is not my favorite. The paper is thick & stiff and sometimes comes loose ....
Normally if I am creating my PaperPiece pattern, or making copies of one to use I do it on lightweight muslin so I do not have to remove paper. I much prefer ( foundation instead of paper)
