Well I finally got all the blocks sewed together and the first border around it..and so far...no more Jack the ripper..so if he is missing again..he is not here...and nor do I want him here lol. These are the borders my DIL picked out..she is a very out door type person. She loves hunting, fishing, ATVing, snowmobiling etc.. What size should the middle border be? The first and last will be 1 3/4 inch.

Questions: Is the leaves material the middle border? Is the green the 1st border? and how set are you on the brown being the outer border?

The leaves is the middle border..and I am not set in stone for the gold as the outer border. I have the first border of green on, then would be the leaves, then one more border.

I love it just the way you have it. Binding in the darkest color (Brown/Rust or green). Beautiful!

What size strips and center square did you cut for your
log cabin blocks. I want to get one started.

Honestly, I'd just go with a nice wide (5" ) border of the leaves.

Putting the other borders, especially since they're so thin, doesn't really add anything to a log cabin setting, already made up of a ton of small strips. You want to show those off!

That other beige(?) you have for the small border isn't adding anything to the color combo.

And I'm really liking having a light border (which isn't the norm) setting off the center log cabins.
It all screams OUTDOORS to me.

And then binding in the green.

I love your fabrics and colors. I'm very much into nature, but not all the outdoor sports that your daughter-in-law is into (of course I'm waaaay older than her).

I LOVE your quilt...but I'm also not into the green small border you have on there, nor the small gold one on the edge. I think the leaf fabric first, in a width that is in increments of your block size and then a binding in either the red or green.

It will be beautiful no matter what you do. Nice job!

Be sure to share your finished and quilted quilt with us. Thanks.
