Wonderful quilt! It looks like lots love and care went into it. I really love URR's. Would love to see it when it's done.

Prayers for successful surgery and a very fast recovery!

The Underground Railroad has a history with it that had to do with slavery, and how certain quilts were hung as "signals" to the slaves that there was a safe place where the quilt hung. The different blocks represent different signals,,,you can Google the history and legend. It seems there is a debate over whether it is fact or fiction or a combination, but it's interesting...

Oh riversong ... I am so sorry to hear that you haven't been well. That really sucks. I hope the surgery is a success and that you will be on the mend soon. Bless your heart real good , hon.

I love it that you came in and showed us you underground rail road. I think those are very interesting quilts, especially with the history behind them. I saw something many years ago that was a quilt that showed how the road to freedom looked. A white house, a river and so on. It gave them a map of how to go. Also, a biblical one since they didn't have bibles. Those women were very wonderful quiltmakers.
