Maybe a darker shade of green or red...or you could always us white.

I made a quilt of this pattern for my granddaughter. It was all in beachy fabrics with white sashing. It had a border of Lighthouses on it. She loves it.

Very pretty. My choice for the Christmas one would be a good shade of gold, not a real yellow gold, maybe a darker gold.

Eleanor Burns is awesome to watch and has some really great videos. Your table topper is beautiful! Red & Green...hmmm...maybe a shade of gray that mimics silver for the sashing? Gold? Blue? How about a Christmas plaid that has gold threads through it?
