I did 6 placemats using split nine patch (using only leftovers) and a YBR quilt with mostly leftovers (blue fabric and the blue/gold fabric was new). I have come to realize I just am really drawn to the scrappy look.

I was pleased with how it turned out if I do say so myself. :D

OK, what's a YBR? But whatever it's called, the blue/brown quilt and the placemats are just gorgeous! :D

I think YBR is the Yellow Brick Road pattern.

Thanks so much everyone. Yes, YBR is yellow brick road sewjoyce. I got so excited when I first got the pattern that I cut ALL my fabric up to make up the first 2 blocks of the pattern and had none left for the third block.

Has anyone else been ditzy like that?

Beautiful. What is it about scrappy that is just so attractive? I'm always drawn to scrappy looks, too!

Mrs. Mel, you put these colors together yourself? these are just lovely :D
Glad somebody has the knack, I have to work, work, work on combinations, to get them just right. Good for you

    Very nice!

    I like scraps too.

And I also like making soup.

Could this be rather like quilting in the kitchen? Using up the scraps and leftovers, and turning them into something warm and satisfying?
