If you have a newspaper office in your town, that is a good source for foundation piecing paper. Usually they will give you the ends of the rolls of newsprint with a little left on the roll, for free.

After you get past an initial learning curve paper-piecing is great fun. You did a great job on yours. Will look forward to a picture of the finished quilt. I like your idea of inexpensive paper. Some kinds of paper from the medical supply store also work well.

Love your star - the colors really pop! I have been through Midlothian several times and love the town. How lucky you are to live there!

Yikes! Love them so sharp and precise just great. Good for you using those scraps - That's my 2014 goal also.

learning to paper piece is scary! yours is beautiful. PP is on my list for this year. I think I will be looking for a simpler block to learn on than these though! lol your quilt is going to be beautiful when done

That is very pretty....I like to use parchment paper for paper piecing...
