Our DD's birthday is Valentine's Day and I wanted to send her something with hearts. I found the pattern from an old magazine I've had for years and used mostly scraps for the hearts. This is only the top and I need to figure out how to quilt it. Do I quilt the top and then iron on the hearts (I used Eleanor Burns' method for applique using fusible web)? The magazine didn't have very good instructions. Hope you like it :)

You will still have to sew the hearts down, but you can quilt around the hearts. It is going to beautiful.

Very cute.... I guess I need to think about V- day pretty soon here. I have been taking my sweet little ol time working on a King size quilt for MY bed, I'm wondering if I will even get that done.

Iron on the hearts, sew around them with a buttonhole or blind hem stitch with thread the same color as the heart. Then quilt it. Fusable web isn't going to last very long. If you sew them down, they will stay forever.
