Congratulations, it is beautiful. In the end there are happy memories of even our most difficult projects. Overcoming the problems are so satisfying. You should be very very proud of this quilt.

So that's the secret to making beautiful quilts! Perhaps I should nip a li'l more at the inspiring beverages. Great story and what a gorgeous quilt!

"Piecin' a quilt's like livin' a life...The Lord sends us the pieces, but we can cut 'em out and put 'em together pretty much to suit ourselves, and there's a heap more in the cuttin' and the sewin' than there is in the caliker...I've had a heap of comfort all my life making quilts, and now in my old age I wouldn't take a fortune for them." LOL...No it wasn't, but funny you should bring up AA. I started quilting many years ago while trying to dry out after a bitter divorce. Yep, I'm recovered...never been to a meeting, but no longer drink till I pass out. I have the occasional irish coffee. Most of the time the Baileys spoils before I can drink the bottle. You know they say alcoholics will generally trade one bad habit for another, mine was fabric!
