Oh, Eddie! You've turned a box of "What on earth will I do with these?" into an absolute treasure.
Your color and design selections, and the simplicity of your quilting have created a fitting, dignified background for this heirloom quilt.
Someone is very, very fortunate. Congratulations!

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. She has received the quilt and below is an e-mail that I received from her today:
This is the second of three quilts that I'm doing for her from vintage blocks. The next one is going to be of blocks that her mother had and is a signature quilt also. The blocks were made by fellow teachers at a school she taught and when she left teaching there each teacher made a block and embroidered their name on it.
David brought out the quilt and it is even more beautiful than I tho't. You did a fantastic job on it. Be proud of yourself. That quilt will go to David. We had 3 kids and I will divide everything like the quilts. Since he has been doing all of the running I gave him his choice and he chose the one you just finished. Has his great grandmothers and great, great grandmother plus various aunts, etc. I am more than excited about this quilt. Just can't find words to tell you how much I appreciate all you've done and are doing. Thanks again, Garoldine
