Default Wall hanging / baby quilt

Last year a friend at work was pregnant with a girl and interested in starting quilting. She sent me a picture of a quilt she like. I couldn't find the pattern so copied it the best I could. Anyway, sadly her little girl had trisomy 13 and didn't make it. So now perhaps it will be a comfort quilt for her. Just need to put a hanging sleeve and label. This is the first quilt that all my mitred corners on the binding worked out right. Usually just one doesn't go right.
I stitched in the ditch in the squares, for the big flower eyeballed and did diagonals, outlined the long yo yo flowers. Decided the leaves needed to look more 3d so stitched with variegated (I think that's the name) thread. Hand quilted the dragonflies in the white space.

Really really cute! Very thoughtful of you. This will surely help her pain.

Cute quilt! We take for granted what a miracle each baby is, until something goes wrong. So sad but your quilt will be a comfort.

How sad for the mom, but may this quilt hold a memory for her.
