You sure did a lot of nice work on that wallhanging.
The quilting must just really set the whole thing off splendidly.
Good job!

The wee one will grow like a flower--That is gorgeous. :D Is it pieced or paper pieced? Such nice work--great colors.

The entire thing is paper-pieced. I bought some of that dissolvable paper to try on this and here's my review of that:

I will NEVER use that stuff again. I put it in the tub to dissolve the paper. It's supposed to dissolve in 10 seconds--HAH!! It took me 4 hours. The first time I soaked it and rinsed it, it came out feeling like sticky cardboard. So I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed until it finally felt somewhat soft again. Then I realized that the printing on the paper does not dissolve. It just sits on the seams. So I had to go around all the seams with masking tape on my finger to remove that. That probably wouldn't have been necessary if it had been dark fabric. But it showed from the front on my white fabric. Believe me, it is so much easier to just pull the paper off. But dissolvable paper does NOT pull off. I tried removing the paper first instead of soaking it but this stuff does NOT pull off. Never never never again.

My sister, who is an interior decorator, helped me pick the fabrics to match what she was doing with the window treatments and bedding. I wouldn't tell her or my niece exactly what I was making (just flowers and butterflies since that's what they wanted). They were both a little nervous about that. They already had "plan B" in case they didn't like it. When I showed it to them, their mouths literally dropped and both said at the same time "Oh my gosh!!" Plan B stayed plan B and my quilt is hanging in the nursery :D

BTW, the colors are a little brighter than what shows in the pic (not much but they just look a bit faded to me when I look at the pic).

Sooo beautiful!

I only got to make 2 qpplique wallhangings before my fingers went stiff and swollen from rheumatoid arthritis. My daughter has the first one, a vine circle with trumpet flowers and my mom the other, a whimsical angel with white hair like hers. So, luckily, I can see my quilts every now and then.

Your sister and niece will enjoy this forever!
