If you all remember the broken pipe in my dad's basement that got a tub of fabric's soaked. I got it all washed but I may do it again. They smelled clean until I ironed then and the heat made the smell come back. I wanted to show you all what some of the prints are. These are old prints, I think. I have some of them sewn together for a crazy type quilt.

Those are such pretty fabrics. Give them another wash, I know you can save them.

Thank you all. I'm going to rewash them. I thought it would be easier to sew them together then wash em again.

Do try another washing. It is a bunch of very nice prints. I have often washed smelly (musty) fabrics after completing a project, seems safer to me, less chance they'll fray. I usually put baking soda and detergent in the wash with them.

Sometimes that odor will come out if you use extra fabric softener in the dryer. Otherwise, wash them again and add a cup of ammonia, that will take the odor out. It will be worth it to save this fabric. Best wishes and keep us posted on the results.

Pretty fabrics.

I was also going to suggest baking soda. There are some detergents out there that say they are good for removing odors.

I was going to suggest putting a cup of white vinegar in the final rinse....this will usually take out odors....
