I agree with Teacup - this is a really sophisticated take on a briliant pattern; and it's great to use stash and put fabrics together yourself so effectively. :-D

    Thanks folks...
as for my stash, I usually buy at least two fabrics that go together and possibly three when I buy stuff - and generally two yards of everything....
that gives me plenty combined with 'other stuff' to make a quilt top..
my "problem" is, I got really carried away last year (09) because we went up north a couple times and stopped in Whittle's and Sir's, and then we have discount fabric places in Mobile so...... you know 'the rest of the story'....
Today I really made fast my resolution to not buy anymore because I was looking for some particular fabric and can't find it!! grrrrrrr......

Yes as fabraholics it is hard to let a deal like that pass by. The quilt shop we sew in on fridays for QOV gives us 10% all the time :). Plus she has an awesome 40% off room with GOOD stuff not a little bit of stuff that didn't sell.. she is smart.. the room is about 8 x 8 and filled with wonderful fabrics and she sells a lot as a result of it and patterns too. The people also buy in the shop.

so many shops have a few bolts of ugly non selling fabric in thier sales room !!

This is very striking. Don't know if I would have thought to put the red with your other fabrics but it really did brighten up your quilt!! I like it!
Great job. Join the crowd in having so much stash. I am in the mood to do scrappy quilts and have several patterns picked to do. So am hoping to use up some of my stash. I also have lots of quilt tops to be quilted but always wanting to make one more!!
