    Hi Everyone,

I finally finished this wedding quilt top, yay! This is what's had me so busy for the last several months. I bought this as a kit, "White Chocolate" from Stitchin' Heaven for our oldest son and new bride. The wedding was last July. I started this quilt last January, but had a cognitive meltdown last summer/fall for several months due to my MS. When you're rippin' more that your sewin', it's time to throw in the towel!!

Finally, this January I was able to resume sewing and completed this top recently. It is now off to the quilter for her magic. Looking forward to it being completely finished and to the newlyweds soon. I'll start a new post when it's back to show you. For now, here it is as a top.

Love it! Almost makes me wish I had the money for a "real" wedding. Your son and his bride are very lucky recipients :)

This kit had 28 or 30 different fabrics for the main blocks. I could never have picked them out myself. Their home is in creams to browns, so think this will go quite nicely.

Very pretty, I really like the pattern. Wonderful job and congrats to the newlyweds. I am sure they will love it. Did you instruct the quilter as to a "pattern of quilting" or are you leaving that up to her? I would be interested in knowing what is quilted. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I chose an edge to edge panto of leaves and vines as the couple live in the NW amongst many trees and they love the outdoors. If money were no object, I may have chosen something different, but when a budget dictates otherwise... I'm sure I'll be pleased with the outcome. My thread choice was Sandy Beach from Superior, seen here.

Thank you very much on both counts. It really upset me that I couldn't have their wedding quilt done in time, but sometimes we just don't have any choice in the matter.

Gorgeous quilt! Oh, I can't wait to see it quilted! Now, don't be too hard on yourself...that quilt is worth the wait & I'm sure the couple will appreciate it regardless!

Oh, thank you for your kind words, Maureen. I hope they will feel the same way. I suspect they will, as my son has always been supportive and encouraging of my quilting. :-D
