Do you mean to quilt diagonally following the overall diamond pattern? Or quilt diamons in individual squares...or something else entirely that I'm missing?

I meant to quilt diagonally through the squares in the same fabric, was that your idea too, Loretta?

Ok, that's what I was hoping you meant. :) I think that would look good. Thanks! I'll get around to that one of these days - machine quilting is my least favorite part! :?

For machine quilting may I suggest echo stitching around the center heart extending just to the striped fabric. Then echo the diamond pattern and add hearts in each corner.

I love the tote! I plan on making some for the grocery store so I don't have to use the plastic bags and the quilt is georgous! You did a wonderful job!!
