Question What do I do with all these blocks?!?

Please forgive me for being away so long. It's an awful thing but I have been forced to go earn money, and boy does it cut into the quilting time! But I'm back. I have quilts to make!

So, a friend was given a boxful of quilt blocks made when a coworker's elderly aunt died, and she gave them to me. I have given away many, but I would like to make something with these wheels and fans for our vintage camper. From the looks of the fabric, these were made a very long time ago, and they are all handstitched!

I don't know whether to keep them as wheels, or separate into fans. I don't know what color the background fabric should be. I doubt I'll ever match that green. I have No Idea what to do with them. Tell me what you would do with them!

(I'm including a photo of the camper, so you can see where it's going)

They are lovely! I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions and help here. They will make a beautiful quilt that you will love. And the lady that hand-pieced them will be pleased that they are used! I know that if I had made them, I would appreciate your making them into something you can enjoy!

I think I would take circles apart and use them as fans. I think they would be easier to work with and would look really nice in a setting like this https://www.quiltingboard.com/fbimag...d=329501&e=jpg As for background colour, I think I would stay wit something light. Lucky you! Oh and love the camper!

The wheels, I would appliqué onto a plain background. The fans I would use sashing between them. You might be able to find some reproduction 1930 fabrics to use with them.
p.s. Your trailer is very cute

I got lost in the camper. I'm so envious. It is gorgeous. Whatever you choose to do, it will be beautiful in the camper.

Maybe use the wheels as blocks and the fans as the border.

Looking back at the camper, could you make a slip cover for the backs of your benches? Wheels on the front and fns along the edge.

I think I’d keep the wheels like they are and make 13 more (13x4=52), but rather than try to match the sashing ot the greens, I’d make scrappy new sashing with variations on the theme (ie, cream with a bright square hub) Background fabric i would audition after all blocks are assembled.
