So I did 6 months of a block of the month and wasn't able to do the rest. They're 12 1/2" blocks. I know they're kind of strange looking blocks because my friend and I, who were doing this togehter, always wanted to rearrange the pieces into something other than the design we were given. I'd like to put them together into a twin sized quilt, but whatever I try I don't like. Any suggestions?

Find some fabric that has all of those colors in it. Cut the fabric the same size as those blocks. Alternate your pieced block and a plain block (the new fabric). If you like that, then put some sashing between the blocks and a border.

I would take the color blue or red, match it and make sashings between, add borders of the same material. Use solid color of the blue or red which ever color you did not choose and make the same size block. Then put the blocks that are finished through out the quilt.

do you think it would be better with straight rows or on point?

IMHO it would give it more character to put the blocks on point. Then take the other suggestions from above and incorporate solids with sashing. You will have a nice size small quilt. Show us pics when finished with top. Nice job on your blocks.

SO with your advice I did this with eq7 just now. What do you think of it? it's really hard for me to judge whether I will like this when it's a quilt. I really appreciate all comments!
    Thanks,
    Carol

It looks good. But, play with it some more and put something else in the half blocks around the inside border and see how it looks.

I like the center "medallion" kind of look and I might also add some interest in the borders like flying geese using all of the colors in the quilt or just one (red or blue). Let us see how it all comes out. I think it's going to look great. These are beautiful blocks. I never get tired of making RW&B quilts.
