That is the problem with have with my girl. She is a 'reverse brindle' Boxer. But she is basically totally black. AND she loves to sunbath. When I let them out, she will be a stubborn mule and want to sunbath. So I set the kitchen timer for 4-6 minutes. When it was only in the low-90s, she would be able to stay out for 30 min or more. Not now with this heat. Although today she really hasn't wanted to sunbath.

Right now, she is lying right beside an ac register. And Loki is camped in front of the floor fan.

Oh and two of the three cats are laying on the tiles in the bathroom and my old man cat is in the sink. Everyone is hot today.

There was a story in our paper today. Someone left their dog at a kennel. When she picked him up his pads were all cracked and he couldn't walk for 3 days. She can't get the kennel to respond to her calls. Be careful if you have to leave them.

We never go anywhere because DH won't leave ours.

Garden expert on the radio this morning said fungus will grow on plants watered at night. Best to water early in the morning before sun get too hot.

Too cute! Our golden isn't allowed up on the furniture but he's too old anyways. He used to sleep with our oldest daughter in her bed but we discovered that she was actually picking him up (he's 100 lbs!!) and helping him get in bed...and then he was having trouble getting out in the mornings...and he had an accident! So now he has to sleep on the floor next to her bed. Gotta give her props for helping the old man out though haha.

When he gets hot he loves to lay on the ceramic tile just inside the front door. Coolest spot in the house!

Officially, they say we have had a couple of 99 degree days, but "unofficially" ( according to all local thermometers), it has been over 100 every day for over a month, now, here. A few of 111 to 115.
Toto waits until the last minute...wants out, and wastes NO time, and is ready to come back in. The cats aren't even interested in what might be lurking outside any more. If a door opens and they feel that heat, they are back down the hall to a cool spot.

My poor pups want to go outside, but they stick their noses out and they're back in a hot second. I take them to the dog park early in the morning - it's right on the beach so there's usually a good breeze. Then they don't go out again until night time.
