What are they????

Most people know what a dish towel is. I am thinking that because you had crocheted beatiful edges on them and made them look so pretty, that is why she was confused. If you had not told me what they were, I would not have known either what to use them for either. They look so lovely and so delicate to be just a plain old dish towel. You have definitely given dish towels a new name! Very lovely.

I never grew up around babies nor ever had to take care of one until I had my own. So I could understand how someone who is going to have a new baby might be full of all kinds of questions. I am not sure I see the humour in your statement.

Oh My!! I guess the younger generation has never seen crochet aroung a dish towel. Yours turned out so nice. Almost too pretty to dry dishes with. Crochet on dish towels and embroidery is just about a thing of the past. That girl doesn't know how lucky she is!!

I love those dish towels - I agree most young people use dishwashers and probably never used any kind of dish towels. I love them and would use them every day - I have one of those special dishwashers.......my hands.
What surprises me now days is alot of young people do not cook - they can heat things in a microwave but they don't know how to cook an actual meal. Who needs dishtowels when they don't even cook. Geez...
It is a lovely and thoughtful gift.
