whew! got the first top done

I want to make my boys tshirt quilts for christmas. I got the first top done this weekend, I am happy with out it turned out. I never know how I am going to sew all of these together until I get into it.
I won't worry about quilting it until later

Great job!! You have a big project ahead of you. I have been known to give gifts with pins in it....then I finish them after Christmas.

I have been working off and on for about two weeks.... interfacing and cutting and looking trying to decide I still have to baste, quilt and bind it but it feels good to get the top done

I love looking at all the t-shirt quilts. Each one is so unique. When I did a t-shirt, I did the bias seam on the outside borders like you have done. My long arm quilter said. "Don't do bias seams on t-shirts because it stretches and you get the wavy borders." I noticed my borders did not lay flat but took it to the long armer anyway. Luckily, it wasn't much, and she was able to quilt the fullness out. Hope you have fun doing the rest of your quilts.
