Well, I guess I've been on this board long enough to tell you all why I started quilting.

My grandmother was a quilter and I always wanted her to teach me, but we never got the chance. She passed away when I was 16 and left me, in addition to the few quilts she had made me earlier, my wedding present. This quilt was hand sewn and hand quilted.

I'm still a bit young to get married, but I thought I share this picture with you all, before I put the quilt away for a few (hopefully not too many) years. :)

This is really big - larger then a king size

My aging eyes cannot see the blocks very well. Is that a Cathedral Window quilt? Just curious, it really doesn't matter as it is beautiful now matter what the pattern name.
